This page has been created as a "sandbox" of sorts, giving you a learning environment and instructions to familiarize yourself with the basics of the tool. Let's see what you can do here:
<li> <b>Play</b>: We have in the box below a version of vilambit teentaal theka. For starters, click on the red PLAY button to hear what it sounds like.
</li><li> <b>Change Tempo</b>: You can change the tempo in the purple box at the bottom of the page.
You can also play around with the other input elements in the box to see what changes they bring about.
</li>
Scroll down to see how to edit this composition.

[melody start]
[D1--T7|D2--T7|D2-D2-|D1---][tabla]
[D1--T7|D2--T7|D2-D2-|D1---][tabla]
[D1--T7|T2--T7|T2-T2-|T1---][tabla]
[T4R1K2T8|D2--T7|D2-D2-|D1---][tabla]
[melody end]
<li><b>Change a beat:</b> In the table above, we will try to change तिरकिट to some other beat.
Click on the तिरकिट. You will see a popup box. Click on the <i>Backspace</i> button, and then click on one or more bols in the box to replace the तिरकिट. Click <i>X</i> on the popup box when done.

Below is another copy of the same composition that you can play around with. You can use either of the two tables for your edits.

</li><li><b>Add line in Excel</b>: Next, hover over the left-most button in the same line as the PLAY button, and you will see the text "Edit in excel".
You can add another line at the bottom.
For starters, you can just click on row number 4 (click on the number 4 so that the entire line gets highlighted), copy it and paste to row number 5.
You now have a 20-beat composition. Press the PLAY button to hear what it sounds like. You can play around some more here.
</li>
[melody start]
[D1--T7|D2--T7|D2-D2-|D1---][tabla]
[D1--T7|D2--T7|D2-D2-|D1---][tabla]
[D1--T7|T2--T7|T2-T2-|T1---][tabla]
[T4R1K2T8|D2--T7|D2-D2-|D1---][tabla]
[melody end]

<li><b>Add line in Script</b>: Now hover over the next button, which looks like an "A".
The tooltip should tell you that the button will allow you to "Edit in script".
Click on the button. Place your cursor at the beginning of the last line (the melody end) line.
Insert the following there: <pre>[D1 | D2 | D1 | D2] [tabla]</pre>
So your last line will now look like: <pre>[D1 | D2 | D1 | D2] [tabla]</pre></li>
